Military Honors Interment Friday, December 15, 2017 at 11am at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL.  A Celebration of Gerald’s Life will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 12-3pm at Knights of Columbus Marian Banquet Hall, 335 S. 4th Street, Riverton, IL.

Gerald Lee Lehman, 74, of Springfield, IL died Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.  He was born November 14, 1943 in Springfield, IL to Ernest L. and Mildred (Fritz) Lehman.  Gerald married Carla Montgomery in 1968 and they later divorced.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Norma Ausmus, Delores Little, and Shirley Burt, and brother, Kenneth Lehman.

Gerald was a graduate of Lanphier High School and Lincoln Land Community College.  He served his country in the US Army from 1965-67 serving in Korea at Camp Casey in the 7th Infantry, 7th Admin. Company.  He worked for Arrow Tractor and Trailer until he retired in 2006.  He loved fishing and animals…we called him the dog whisperer, and he very much loved his miniature pincher, Jack.

He is survived by his daughters; Jennifer (Wes) Scales of Riverton, IL, Stephanie (Ron) Howard of Riverton, IL, grandchildren; Ryan (Laura) Hughes, Lerin (Jake Grafelman) Hughes, Reese Scales, Cade and Cole Howard, great grandchildren, Kinleigh and Silas Hughes, brothers; Chuck (Brenda) Lehman of Clinton, IL, Larry (Carlene) Lehman of Vandalia, IL, Steve Lehman of Springfield, IL, and David (Janet) Lehman of Riverton, IL, sisters; Denise Neal of Sherman, IL and Ellen Abbott of Troy, IL, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Military Honors Interment will be held Friday, December 15, 2017 at 11am at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL.  A Celebration of Gerald’s Life will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 12-3pm at Knights of Columbus Marian Banquet Hall, 335 S. 4th Street, Riverton, IL.

Memorials may go to APL, COPD Foundation, or Myasthenia Gravis Foundation.
