Lillie Belle Rocha of Chatham, Illinois, sadly passed away at St John’s Hospital at the age of  85, Tuesday evening, April 17th, 2018. She was born at home on September 16th, 1932 to parents Leslie and Helen Butler in Auburn. She married Joseph Rocha on December  16th 1973. They were happily married for 45 years. She had 10 brothers and sisters. Lillie was preceded in death by her brothers: Robert, Ronald, Kenny, John, and Donald “Sonny”, and a sister: Betty Morrow. She is survived by her brothers: Gerald and Richard “Tinker”, and sisters: Carol Klaus and Martha Harbour. Lillie left behind a huge family to carry on her legacy.  She raised 5 sons: Joseph Rocha, Robert Petrie, Ronald Petrie, Richard Petrie, and Randy (Linda) Petrie. She is survived by them and her 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Ronnie and Zachary Petrie, Peggy, Jade, and Vaughn Pflug, Amanda and Randy Petrie, Lexi, Garret, and Illyania Rocha,  and Andy Petrie.

Her loving husband and family remained by her side until the very end. In her final moments she was surrounded by the love of her husband Joseph, her sons: Ronald, Richard and Joseph, and her grandchildren and great grand children: Peggy (Brian), Jade, and Vaughn Pflug;  Lexi and Illyania Rocha; and sister Carol (Jim) Klaus.

Lillie loved birds and used to own 26 parakeets! She also loved her dog Tuffy. She enjoyed yard sales and used to take all her grandchildren to them and buy them what ever they wanted. Lillie was very involved in the family, especially with all her children and grand children. She never missed a birthday or school event.  Her passing leaves a hole in the hearts of the people who knew her. She was the glue that held everyone together. She was the most generous woman imaginable. She was a friend to everyone, strangers and family alike. If you had need of anything, all you had to do was ask and she was there for you. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Taking care of people in need, meant a lot to Belle. Memorial donations may be made in Belle’s name to: New Life Family Church to be given to a food pantry of the family’s choosing.
