Michael F. Harrison, 80, of Kincaid, IL died Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Springfield, IL.  He was born September 23, 1937 in Taylorville, IL to Fred and Mary (Klemm) Harrison. Mike married Marilyn Ritz September 19, 1969 in Tacoma, WA.

Mike attended Eastern Illinois University, and thrived for years in his career in Retail management for Osco, Zayre, Ames, and Walmart.  He was an amateur writer.

Mike was a die hard sports fan who was always rooting for the Chicago Cubs, University of Illinois and Manchester City Football Club.  Mike loved to travel and spend time with his family. He spent years researching and building his family tree, and took two trips to England to connect with his English relatives.  Mike loved all things family and was always excited when he got the chance to spend time with his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Mike attended Midland Methodist in Kincaid early in life.  He and Marilyn were members of Immanuel Lutheran Church.  Mike was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served from 1956-1960.  He was deployed in Northern Africa and Montana.  Mike spent several years as a volunteer for Red Cross, St John’s Hospital Hospice Care, Patient Care, and Salvation Army, specifically on Hurricane Katrina Relief Teams.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Max Harrison, and nephews Fred Smith and Max Harrison.

Mike is survived by his wife, Marilyn, Son Michael Harrison (Meghan), Daughter Jennifer Teel (Bradley), Sisters Pat Smith and Gloria Henley, Brother Jim Harrison, Sister in Law, Joanne Harrison, and Sister in Law, Cynthia Harrison

A military honors service will be held at Camp Butler on Friday, June 29th at 11 AM.

Celebration of Life will be held August 11, 2018 at the American Legion in Chatham.
